Curse of the Vampire Orchestra - The KID (2/12/2022)

The Curse of the Vampire Orchestra returned to the Music Box Theater to perform and orchestral accompaniment of Charlie Chaplin’s Film “The KID” for a one-night performance.

This performance’s theme (from an L1 perspective) was all about balance. The challenge was illuminating and liven up the orchestra, while also keeping a strong focus on the silent film. The composer (Philip Shorey) and I worked together to delicately shift the primary focal point from the film’s plot to the orchestral composition/musicians to successfully deliver the critical balance needed to support this hand-crafted show.
